Description

[an absolute MUST see full; and even download for detail and lettering; many words are legible.]

This piece is actually one of three in a triptych set of 14x20 canvases titled "Ellipsis & ...". But each panel individually has its own singular meaning, too. This is the " ... " part of the triptych. However, there are thoughts to this canvas alone.

This--
Organized chaos.
Words forever continuing and spilling in my mind.
But always cut short,
undecipherable.
You may get a taste, find a theme, get a sense; but the whole story will never be read or known.
I will cut corners</b>, beat around the bush, leave details obscured.
Hidden. Masked. Altered. Shifted. Rearranged.
Fragmented.
But, the whole puzzle is there.
It just must never be put together.

Everything has its place now.
Its place is to never connect.
Remain scattered.
Stay unknown in its entirety.
Didn't you hear?
All the pieces before us,
Won't fit together.

They're to remain forever apart.
It's where they belong.
It's where they are safe.

*additional thoughts: not my own writing.*

Leave the bright blue door on the white-washed floor.
Leave the death lecher under city hall.
Leave the joyful air and that rubber ball today.
Leave the lilac print on the linen sheet.
Leave the bird you killed, at your father's feet.
Let the sideways rain in the crooked street remain.
Leave whimpering dog in his cold kennel.
Leave the dead starlit on her pedestal.
Leave the acid kids in their green fishbowls today.
Leave the sad guitar in its hard-shell case.
Leave the worried look on your lover's face.
Let the orange embers in the fireplace remain.

Because everything must belong somewhere.
The train off in the distance, bicycle chained to the stairs.
Everything must belong somewhere.
I know that now, that's why I'm staying here.</u>
...
Leave the secret tops on the trundle bed.
Leave the garden tools in the rusted shed.
Leave those bad ideas in your troubled head today.

Leave novelist in his daydream tune.
Leave the scientist with her rubik's cube.
Let true genius in the padded room remain!!

Because everything must belong somewhere.</i>
We locked the devil in the basement, threw God up into the air...
Yeah, everything must belong somewhere.
I know it's true, I wish you'd leave me here.
I know it's true, why don't you leave me here?
